Aislinn Paul and The Shanks doin’ work on Disney

25 Mar

With Season 9 of Degrassi: the next generation looming in the background, you can expect to see a glance of Clare and Alli a week before Teen Nick debuts “Broken Promises” April 2nd at 9:00 ET. Melinda Shankar and Aislinn Paul will star in ‘Harriet the Spy’ which is a remake from the 1996 movie. Melinda will play the role of Janie Gibbs, as Aislinn Paul will play Beth Ellen.

***PLOT***
Young spy Harriet Welsch crosses paths with popular student Marion Hawthorne as the two girls fight to become the official blogger of their high school class. After Marion has already started blogging, Harriet is at the edge, so she sets her sights on a big pop star, Skander Hill, who is in town starring in a movie her father is producing, Spy Teen 2. Despite Harriet’s distain for the star of the film, Skander Hill. She starts blogging about him and is stalking him until Marion finds out. But soon she goes to far and she must end it before she ruins her father’s movie and Skander’s career.

I’m excited to see Aislinn Paul outside of her role on D:TNG as I only know her as Clare Edwards. Seeing her as something else will give her credibility as an actor and will let the fans appreciate Clare Edwards as Season 9 comes to an end and Season 10 starts production THIS MONDAY!

Along with Aislinn, we also see Melinda Shankar. If you have been with me since the beginning, or even the past month or two, I have always said that she has the “it” factor. I can’t explain it, but she has a glow about her that makes Degrassi ten times better. Lets hope she doesn’t hook-up with Peter, otherwise we might risk losing her to The CW! It might not matter though, she is one talented actress and each season we get more Alli…is a good one.

Minor appearances by Sean’s mom and and i think the guy who talked Marco into giving sex favors for $300. Can’t remember if he was given a name. This was when Marco was trying to get money for his gambling habit.

You can catch The Shanks and Aislinn Paul, Friday, March 26th at 8/7 Central in United States on Disney Channel (replay Saturday at Noon ET) and in Canada on the Family Channel.
